the ultimate Healer

He loves, He looks, He touches us, WE LIVE. O that poor sinners would go to Jesus, believing in the power of His blessed substitutionary work, and they would soon learn the power of His gracious touch. That hand which multiplied the loaves, which saved sinking Peter, which upholds afflicted saints, which crowns believers, that same hand will touch every seeking sinner, and in a moment make him clean. The love of Jesus is the source of salvation. (Based on Mark 1:41, from Morning & Evening by C. H. Spurgeon) Continue reading the ultimate Healer

hush your mouth

*Disclaimer: I’m writing this to myself. It is my hope that I can change from these experiences and reflections. If others benefit as well, that would be wonderful. I occasionally let things people do or say offend me; How much have I offended others and, much more, the One who died for … Continue reading He’s been faithful

stop and worship

Just when I begin to think my life is all about me…. I’m bought with His blood. He rescued me from the precarious position of dangling over hell. (See Jonathan Edwards.) How can I not be content with His perfect provision and timing? Why am I so distracted by the “stuff” of life? He is worthy. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11) Continue reading stop and worship

Have you ever had one of those days where you start your day by reading a powerful verse, share it on your social media channels, go about daily business, and then finish your day realizing that verse was meant for you? This happened to me last week. And it hit home. Hard. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14 ESV) Now…I don’t want this to sound like I’m perfect. I’m not even close to perfect. I have my own struggles aplenty. … Continue reading heart murmurs
