Astonished by the Bible

Have you ever wanted to hear from God? Wise counsel from the Creator & Savior would sure be nice during the tough times. Well, He has spoken to you. And He wrote His Word down in a Book. Men and women died so that we could understand it in our native language. The Bible contains “everything we’ll ever need for life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3; my paraphrase and emphasis). not enough time in the day

Poor excuse, I know. But this would be a good problem, in the sense that I’m headed in the right direction. I find myself wanting to study “too many” passages. (This really isn’t a bad thing, I promise.) I have determined to set out on a quest to establish a more efficient time management system. I must make more time for studying the Word. Period. I find that 1 Peter is a very important and relevant letter. Guess what? More mirrors.

My personal study at the moment finds its location in the fifth chapter of Paul’s letter to the church at Galatia. I am currently studying the concept of Christian liberty…a.k.a. freedom. One of the cross-references I am using is 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
