When was the last time you looked someone in the eye and had a real, uninterrupted conversation? A millennial acquaintance of mine told me she and her friends would play a game during social outings. It revolutionized their friendship-building skills … Continue reading Put your phone away.
Back by popular demand is another round of photo safari goodness! *hooray!* I had 4 major goals for this evening: spend “be still” time with the Lord run eat at Stubb’s BBQ fulfill a sweet tooth fantasy at Amy’s Ice Cream I’m happy to say I accomplished ALL of my goals…and even walked away with a bonus feature – a vintage treasure, if you will. (Comment for a hint. Yes, I’m going to be vague again. If you read these side musings of mine and actually comment, then I must know you and love you dearly. ~ I don’t want to count my, umm…chickens…before they hatch, but…I love #Flipboard! and yes, just for kicks, I threw in a #hashtag. Sue me. (Shout out to Michael Scott!) All of my favorite social apps and newsfeeds are delicately placed into one design-smart, user-friendly (for those with thumbs…or any digits, really! I mean, even a nose would suffice. Don’t judge. Or so I thought. I found a slip of paper at the door from USPS saying I had a letter waiting for me. First problem – I wasn’t expecting any mail. Second problem – I apparently owed $0.20 on this unexpected letter. … Continue reading Never a Dull Moment

The menu consisted of Minestrone, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Cornbread, Meatballs, Chips and Queso, and a variety of finger desserts. I must say, I have a new favorite knife-worthy vegetable – zucchini! I can also add a few items of culinary experience to my resume 😉 : Able to carry on a conversation while rough chopping cilantro Able to glide through a crowd with a tray of hot cornbread … Continue reading “Three oinkers wearing pants, plate of hot air, basket of Grandma’s breakfast and change the bull to a gill, got it.”
I totally just had the night of my life! I decided it was about time for me to go learn ballroom and latin dancing. I went to Arthur Murray in Plano, expecting to get a sales pitch with a few dance moves as a bonus. Au contraire! I learned the foundation steps for any dance style, danced to a wide variety of music, and met several people who enjoy dancing as I do. Take a look at this list of the different styles I danced…in one night, mind you!…: Foxtrot Rumba Jitterbug Cha Cha Waltz Merengue (with a Conga Line!!! … Continue reading dance. dance. yeah.
