I started 2015 with a fresh sense of optimism. So many great opportunities were available to explore. And, in some sense, I set my heart on them. But God knew better.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9 ESV)
So many personal and professional changes have happened; none went the direction I thought they would. But I’m thankful for each circumstance, trial, relationship, failing, and “growth spurt.”
God is holding my hand through a very different trial today. I’ve never experienced this kind before. Instead of “considering it all joy,” my heart is tempted to yearn for what could have been.
Yet my heart still praises & thanks Him daily. I find my comfort in the One who has gone before me. And in this soul-satisfying promise:
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6 ESV)
Thank you! I’ve had and continue to have some trials this year that were unexpected. I’m eagerly anticipating the blessing at the end but the “during” is kind of tough. Love the verse at the end!

Amen! That end-blessing looks better every day, doesn’t it? Thank you for the comment!
