When traffic infuriates me and reveals my lack of kindness, compassion, & patience….
When my workload increases and drops a stress grenade in my lap….
When I’m tempted to be discontent with my life circumstances & status….
Life is not a playground of indulgence, but an arena of redemption. (D. Edmond Hiebert)
For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:10-12 ESV)

Really love the quote. How would it change our mindset, our daily routine, everything, if we viewed life as the arena of redemption… great thought and needed that today.
Amen! I needed the reminder, too. Two of the three things I mentioned totally happened today. I’m learning how to take “temporary” trials and turn them into opportunities to think through & pray about things I should be thankful for. Also, I’m reminded to pray for those who are suffering far greater than I am (e.g. cancer vs. traffic jam).
