I’m still developing my running career. I know I’m newish to the scene, but I had high expectations of the social aspect of the sport.
I thought the whole “be polite, smile, and/or wave” thing was common courtesy.
I’m naïve.
It’s been a struggle to get a living response from the zombie bikers & runners…but perseverance has paid off for the most part.
I’m starting to recognize the regulars. And they’re remembering me.
And now they’re waving.
WINNING!
I also think it’s possibly a regional thing. Irving/Las Colinas is hard to break. Keller? We’re like family.
There is hope. I’m starting to feel like I’m part of the community.
