Do you think Genesis is literal history?
~
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
~
Let’s break that down real fast.
IN THE BEGINNING | The beginning of time; of everything that is and has been.
GOD | The Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Not Baal or Darwin.
CREATED | Not evolved. First definition on the Merriam Webster website: “to bring into existence <God created the heaven and the earth — Genesis 1:1(Authorized Version)>.”
THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH | I think this is pretty clear, too. A picture is worth how many words? http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html
Want answers to the questions you WILL be asked by people on the street or in the seat next to you on your flight to Seattle (true story)?
Topics, like those listed below, are VERY popular in the modern creation vs. evolution debate:
- Distant starlight and a young universe
- Human-chimp genome similarities
- The fossil record
- The Ice Age (not the movie ;))
- Natural selection and survival of the fittest
Can YOU definitively answer questions related to these topics from the Biblical worldview?

We are here to equip you, a follower of Jesus, to obey the call to…
…in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil. 1 Peter 3:15-17
