His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
2 Peter 1:3-4
My daily sufficiency is found in Christ alone. I “rejoice in hope of the glory of God”! (Romans 5:2)
Were it not for grace!
“The gospel serves as the means by which God daily constructs me into what He wants me to be and also serves as the channel through which He gives me my inheritance every day of my Christian life….It is for this reason that God tells me to be steadfastly entrenched in the gospel at all times and never to allow myself to be moved from there….” (p. 18; A Gospel Primer, Vincent)
“Steadfastly entrenched” reminds me of the fact that I’m fighting in a war. I need to be fully armed & armored. Every moment is precious and should be fought for. Christ purchased my life with His blood. May it not be said of me that I wasted my life.
…continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven….
Colossians 1:23
