- Deny myself, take up my cross every day, and follow Christ. (Matthew 16:24; Luke 9:23)
- I died to my flesh and this world when I was saved. I now live as a doulos (slave) of Christ. (Galatians 2:20)
- I am to love Christ and people, not this world system or my flesh. (1 John 2:15-17)
- I am to excel still more in my pursuit of godliness! (1 Thessalonians 4:1, 10; Philippians 3:12-14; 1 Timothy 4:7-8)
- I need God’s Word. I should meditate on His Word day and night. (Psalm 1:2 ; 119:9-11)
- I am called to “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for [me].” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
