I have been reminded recently of the need to let go of my own desires and pursuits.
I am here to do the will of Christ, not my own.
My salvation was accomplished by His atonement. He purchased me with His precious blood. I am no longer my own.
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20
I am no longer in bondage to sin. My life is hidden with Christ in God. I am HIS slave. A slave of righteousness, not of sin.
I found a hymn recently, one I haven’t sung in a long time, that shows where I need to be.
All to Jesus I surrender;
all to him I freely give;
will ever love and trust him,
in his presence daily live.All to Jesus I surrender;
humbly at his feet I bow,
worldly pleasures all forsaken;
take me, Jesus, take me now.All to Jesus I surrender;
make me, Savior, wholly thine;
fill me with thy love and power;
truly know that thou art mine.All to Jesus I surrender;
now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to his name!– I Surrender All
