My personal study at the moment finds its location in the fifth chapter of Paul’s letter to the church at Galatia.
I am currently studying the concept of Christian liberty…a.k.a. freedom.
One of the cross-references I am using is 2 Corinthians 3:17-18,
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
(Not only does this tie into my last post, but it also gives reference to the title of my blog, “Beholding His Glory”!)
Obviously the mirror caught my attention. But what really affected me was the phrase, “are being transformed….”
This verse shows the importance of sanctification in the believer’s life.
Pastor Tom, when he taught through the doctrine of sanctification, explained the two elements of the sanctification process: the work of the Spirit and “maximum human effort” (MHE).
What am I doing now to maximize my part of the sanctification process?
More to come….
