Oh yes, you guessed it! I managed to slip in a Starbucks theme to my quiz team’s logo.

As I have done for the last few years, I am once again coaching a Bible Quizzing team. This year I have the privilege of coaching 3 great high school guys. I’m also the only coach for the team, which is a first for me. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

It is a bit of a challenge as well. Being an example to these guys brings about the test of whether I can lead in a godly manner or not. If that doesn’t put the fear of God in me, I don’t know what will!

We’ve had a fun season so far…the Poured Out team won the championship at the quiz over Second Timothy 2! We’ve received several candy questions, bouncy balls from Mrs. B, and Quiz Out[s]!

Even though we’ve had such great fun, as a team, we are still focused on trying to bring the glory to the One who inspired the letter to Timothy. (“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17) In our practices, we have discussed some of the things we have been learning from the book, favorite verses, etc. It is so encouraging to me to see teenage guys who care so much for the word of God! What a challenge to me…do I live up to that same love for the word?

I guess that’s what happens when you take a leadership position. You end up learning from the people you were supposed to be teaching/coaching.
